Isolation and culturing method
Found in central Pennsylvania on a mountain crest. Specifically found on a decaying log, in a gregarious cluster. Group of jelly ears are saprobic. Cluster was about waist height. Specimens are widely distributed on all continents and found during all seasons
Culture appearance and growth:
Brown, gelatinous depressed pileus, fibrillose texture, crenulate margins, no lamellae. Stipe absent, attached centrally or laterally. Veined, smooth hymenium, silky or velvety to the touch. No odor, edible.
