Possible ID: Sordariomycota   Classification: Phylum Ascomycota Class Sordariomycota   Isolation and culturing methods: Isolated from a soil sample that was then grown in a lab culture for multiple weeks. The soil was gathered from outside the Tau Kappa Epsilon house in Lewisburg PA, underneath the large tree out front. The sample was grown at room temperature for multiple weeks before any significant growth had happened. Mucour

Possible ID: Mucor Classification: Phylum Zygomycota Class Mucouromycota Order Mucorales Family Mucoraceae Genus Mucor   Isolation and culturing methods: This specific culture was isolated from a plate that was placed underneath an air duct in the 3rd floor mens bathroom on the biology side of the Rooke Building located at Bucknell University. The plate was left under the duct for 2 hours and was left to grow for multiple weeks. Aspergillus

Possible ID: Aspergillus   Classification: Phylum Ascomycota Class Eurotiomycetes Order Eurotiales Family Trichocomaceae Genus Aspergillus   Isolation and culture methods: Isolated from a plate that was left outside for 2 hours in the Grove Park, Lewisburg PA. The sample was extracted from a plate with many different species on it and it took many times to isolate this organism into a pure culture. Irpex Lacteus

Possible ID: Irpex Lacteus Classification: Phylum: Basidiomycetes Class: Polyporales Order: Steccherinaceae Family: Irpex   Isolation and culturing methods: Isolated from a brush pile at Dales Ridge Trail, Lewisburg, PA. Sample was found lying next to other pieces of broken tree and was taken back to the lab to be assessed and placed in a family. The fungus was attached to a hardwood and was in the lab until further notice.   Culture appearance and growth: The surface texture is tough and it is an off white color. Classification: Ascomycota Class: Sordariomycetes     Isolation and culturing method: Isolated from specimen container that was left outside for 2 hours in The Grove Park, Lewisburg PA. The sample was then grown in culture for 2 weeks and then removed from the plate and placed into a container for growth on its own. These plates were in a room at room temperature and allowed to grow off of Agar plates for sustenance. Rhodotorula glutinis

Possible ID: Rhodotorula glutinis   Classification: Phylum: Basidiomycota Class: Pucciniomycota Order: Sporidiales Family: Sporidiobolaceae   Isolation and culturing methods: Isolated from a plate that was left outside for 2 hours in The Grove Park, Lewisburg PA. Sample was put into its own plate and attempted to be put into its own pure culture multiple times over. After the 3rd time the sample had grown in a pure culture.
