Isolation and culturing method:

Isolated from moss on a wood log. The sample placed on malt extract agar + chloramphenicol. Plate was left alone for a couple of weeks and then a small volume of hyphae was excised from the agar and transferred to achieve a pure culture.

 

Culture appearance and growth:

Fungus grew slowly. After a couple of weeks of growth, culture was white, fuzzy, and cotton-like. Edge of culture was light green. Hyphae grew above agar, pointing upward. Hyphae measured 2.5 um wide. No septa or clamp connections present.

 

Spore production:

Cicular spores measuring 5 um in diameter. Sporangia present measuring 12 um in width.
