Possible ID “False Tinder Conk” Phellinus tremulae

Isolation and culturing method :
This was found at Dales Ridge Trail in Central Pennsylvania. This specific specimen was found living about five feet above ground level on a living tree. There was another that seemed to be of the same species about three feet about this one.
Culture appearance and growth:
The fruit body of this was incredibly dense and hard. Th surface of the fruit body was white and pored. The sides of the fruit body were much darker than the surface. It was laterally attached to the tree. It was not seemingly attached by a stipe, rather the entire side of the fruit body was attached to the tree. It had no significant smell upon inspection.
Spore production
No spore produced or found, sample was too old to obtain spore print and no spores were foind on the fruit body itself
