Isolation and culturing method :
These fruiting bodies were found across from Turtle Creek dog park in central Pennsylvania. The specimen were encountered when there was snow on the ground, in late fall/early spring. They were found in a gregarious cluster on a branch that had (seemingly recently) fallen, as there was no signs of rot.
Culture appearance and growth:
These grew quite flat on a branch that had fallen off a tree. They are brown in color, with rings visible on the fruit body. They have a lighter colored outline around the edges of the fruiting bodies. The fruiting bodies had an earthy smell. These ranged anywhere from half an inch to two inches across.
Spore production
No spore produced or found, sample was too old to obtain spore print and no spores were foind on the fruit body itself
