Culture appearance and growth
The cap is very large, around 12 cm in diameter. It is corky and tough. The cap actually feels very woody. Because it is thick, it is hard to break or even bend. The hymenium is light brown and pored. The other side of the cap has dark and rough zonate zones. It feels as if this fungus was growing in layers. It is disc shaped.
