Classification:

Isolation and culturing method

From soil outside of LC. Small amount of soil centrifuged with water, plated, and grown at room temperature. Specific culture removed from plate by taking a clump of hyphae, re-plated four times on M+C agar plate to obtain pure culture.

Culture appearance and growth

Surface texture looks bumpy. Central portion grows higher while external portions grow outward. Hyphae grows above agar, not in or below. Hyphae slender, about 5um wide. Septate with no clamp connections.

Spore production

Spore size about 10 uM and circular. Spores seemingly dark green color, with the borders being darker than the center. Spores are found on top of hyphae, not matriculated within. No structures larger than spores observed, even after two consecutive weeks of microscopy.
