Description:
T. hirsuta is a white-rot, polypore mushroom that is a saphrobe on the deadwood of hardwood trees. The mushroom caps grow on top of each other and make irregular half circles connected to its substrate. The pileus is hairy and the lamellae is pored. Concentric zones varying in color are apparent on the pileus as indicative of theĀ Trametes genus. T. hirsuta has circles of mostly white, gray, and brown. T. hirsuta is widely distributed on hardwoods in North America.
