Unidentifiable fruit body

Possible ID: Uknown   Isolation and culturing methods: This fruiting body was collected on April 2nd in Turtle Creek Park in Lewisburg, PA. It was collected from a branch that had fallen. It was placed in a paper bag and brought back to the lab to further analyze and identify.   Culture appearance and growth It has a plane pileus shape and it has entire pileus margin. Cladosporium

Possible ID: Cladosporium   Classification: Phylum Ascomycota Class Dothideomycete Order Canodiales Family Davidiellacaeae   Isolation and culturing methods: Isolated from an agar plate that was placed near a vent in the Rooke Science at Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA). This plate was used when we were collecting spores to differentiate from ecosystems inside and outside the lab.  Plates were incubated at 20 degrees Celsius for a week or more. Trichothecium

Possible ID:  Trichothecium   Classification: Phylum Acscomycota Class Sordariomycete Order Hypocreales Family Incertae sedis   Isolation and culturing methods: Isolated from an agar plate that was used for a prior lab and was labled “TriB.” However, because it was not pure, Trichothecium grew on it. A small volume of hyphae of this was excised for the agar and transferred to achieve a pure culture.   Culture appearance and growth The culture looked pink/rosy with white hyphae growing out of it. Possible ID. Botrytis sp. Classification: Phylum Ascomycota Class Leotiomycete Order Helotiales Family Sclerotiniaceae   Isolation and culturing method : A moldy strawberry was removed from the fridge and a small amount of the material growing on the fruit was transferred to a M+C agar plate. Classification: Phylum: Basidiomycota Class: Agaricomycetes Order: Agaricales Family: Mycenaceae Genus: Panellus Location: These mushrooms were collected in Pennsylvania woods on April 2nd off of a hardwood tree species. Pluerotoid mushrooms are saprobic and grow in clusters. Description: The fruit bodies are small, grow on wood (pleurotoid), have light brown gills that radiate outward from the stipe attachment, and form kidney shaped caps that are are brown along the outside and beige towards the center of the cap.
